Parents, family and friends enjoyed an eight-song program at the Becker Primary School Thursday afternoon as music teachers Erika Bakke and Ruthanne Eldred presented the first of two first-grade concerts titled “Harvest Jamboree.” Students wore Thanksgiving themed costume pieces and sang and performed on percussion instruments as video cameras rolled and cameras flashed.
Songs on the program included “Come to the Harvest Jamboree,” “Things I’m Thankful For,” “Yankee Doodle’s Pony,””Share the Good Gifts,” a delightfully choreographed rendition of “It’s Great to be a Turkey” and “We Are Thankful” before closing out the performance with a flag-waving patriotic finale featuring “You’re A Grand Old Flag” and “America the Beautiful.”
A different cast of first-graders performed the same program on Friday afternoon.
