The event brings a large group of businesses and organizations together under one roof each January, giving residents a unique opportunity to gather information and express opinions in a social setting.

While his duties will likely keep him in Washington D.C. this year, the robotics team will be on hand for Expo 2015, with a series of demonstrations throughout the event.

Becker Expo Filling Up Fast

The list of exhibitors for the 22nd Annual Becker Business Expo sponsored by the Becker Area Chamber of Commerce is filling up fast, with 62 groups, businesses, churches and individuals signed on as of Thursday morning, according to Chamber Office Mgr. Lynette Brannan. The deadline extended through Friday afternoon, with the usual late entries expected to expand the roster even further by then.
 
The 2015 Expo will again take place in the field house at Becker High School, and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 24, Brannan said.
 
Featured again this year will be the ever-popular food court, giving attendees an opportunity to sample the wares of local restaurants and other fine fare providers and take a break from the hustle and bustle of visiting the assembled vendors at the event.  On board by Thursday were A Taste For Crafts, Inc., Café Pawz from Becker Furniture World and the new Ellis Bakery in Becker.
 
Entertainment is another hallmark of every Becker Expo, with the list of performers for this year including the talented youngsters from Starz Dance, high-tech exhibitions from the championship-winning Becker High School robotics team and the ever-popular Bill Morgan Caricatures, wherein the “Citizen” reporter spends a hectic day at his easel as long lines of Expo attendees queue up for a hand-crafted souvenir of the event.
 
Parking will also be easier this year, organizers said, since the construction project at BHS has now been completed, including the expansion of school parking lots.
 
A host of door prizes donated by participating vendors will be given away during the event, along with the Grand Prize drawing of a Kindle® Fire HD 6 Tablet – kid’s edition, donated by the Becker Area Chamber of Commerce.  Winners of a FitBit® workout tracker and a $100 grocery card will also be drawn during the day.  Drawing chances are $1 each, or six for $5.
