During Tuesday’s meeting, the council chambers were very quiet for most of the meeting, as the Becker City Council entered three separate closed sessions in order to consider real estate deals.
The city is looking to sell lot one, block one of the Energy Park Seventh Addition and lot three, block two of the Energy Park Fifth Addition. They also announced their decision to direct staff to make offers to Becker landowners R D Offutt Company and G & M Outdoor holdings for the city to purchase land. These purchases and sales are not yet official and will appear before the council again after having conversations with the potential buyers and sellers.
ArcGIS Enterprise Agreement
The board elected to enter an agreement with ArcGIS. The company will provide the city with technology used for analyzing data in regards to planning, urban design, administration, and other areas of city function. The new tech will first be adopted by City Hall and Public Works, but will eventually be rolled into all departments.
In Other Business, the Council:
• Approved a lot combination agreement for Bogart Pederson;
• Agreed to lease two city parcels to TJ Potter Trucking to be used as storage area, with intent to eventually purchase the property;
• Adopted the council meeting schedule for 2022;
