Lindbloom Hired as Becker PD Chief

Becker PD has a new chief.

The following is a letter to the public Chris Lindbloom posted on the Becker Police Dept. Facebook page.

“I am excited to announce that I have been promoted to Chief of Police for the City of Becker. For those that have not met me, my name is Chris Lindbloom, I have been a Police Officer with the City of Becker since 2013 and prior to that I worked for two years as a Police Officer in western Minnesota.

Since starting with the City of Becker in 2013 I have had the opportunity to work overnight patrol, dayshift patrol, investigator and most recently, Lieutenant. I am very community oriented and love the City of Becker. I live in Becker with my wife and two children which has allowed me to be involved as a softball coach, t-ball coach, Watch Dog at the school and many other sporting and recreational events in the community.”

“I take over as Chief with a department that is comprised of highly trained and dedicated staff that make it their mission to provide a quality service to the citizens of Becker. I will work to maintain strong relationships with our community members, businesses and visitors. Understanding our community and providing police services with professionalism, confidence, empathy and compassion will be a priority. We are always adapting and growing, keeping up with those changes whether it is a new policy, procedure, tool or training is vital to the success of a police department, especially in a community our size.”

“In the months to come I plan on organizing a Coffee with the Chief event so you can ask questions about me or our department so stay tuned for that. I strive to be available to the community that I serve, so do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.”

“Thank you to the Becker City Council, City Administration, and community members that have provided me with the opportunity to lead this great organization.”

The Patriot is planning a more in-depth article on the hiring in the near future.
