Band Makes “Sounds Of The Season”

The bands of Becker High School under the direction of Jessica Gilbertson got together to present their Holiday concert Monday night in the BHS auditorium.

The program, titled “Sounds of the Season”, included performances from the jazz band and the ninth, 10th and massed 11th/12th-grade band units.

The jazz band opened the performance with The Girl from Ipanema, the Sinatra classic Fly me to the Moon and Birdland.  They were immediately followed by the ninth-grade band, playing a Celebration of Carols, On a Cold Winter’s Night and Winter Holiday.

The 10th grade band then played their set, consisting of Deck the Halls, Whisper to Their Souls and ending with Christmas Fanfares.  The 11th/12th-grade orchestra then closed out the evening with renditions of Secret Agent Santa, O Holy Night and a joyous medley titled A Christmas Spectacular.

The snow and cold temperatures had no effect on the appreciative audience, with very few empty seats in the auditorium for the performance.
