Becker PD Part Time Police Officer Derek Jacobson (left) was recently awarded the Medal of Valor by the Buffalo Police Department. Officer Jacobson also works as a Full Time Police Officer for the City of Buffalo. The award was due to his response and actions during the shooting at the Allina Health Clinic in Buffalo on February 9, 2021. The Medal of Valor is not given out often and is considered in many departments as the highest award given to officers who demonstrate courage, bravery and work above and beyond the call of duty.
