Annual Meetings, Election Dates Near

Notices of annual meetings and sample election ballots for area townships have been published.  Election Day is Tuesday (March 10) with the majority of incumbents running unopposed this year.  Annual meetings are set for the same day, as noted in the following:
Clear Lake Township
In Clear Lake Township, the polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the township hall, 8580 Main St., Clear Lake; with the annual meeting set to begin at 8:01 p.m. 
Bud Stimmler is seeking a three-year term as township supervisor in the election.  
The board of canvass will meet following the annual meeting.  The township office will be open from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday (March 7) for the purpose of absentee voting.
The Clear Lake Township Board meetings are held every third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Township Hall. If one would like to present an item to the Board, please email the township clerk by noon the Thursday preceding the Tuesday monthly meeting at: clearlaketwp@hotmail.com.
 
Becker Township
Polls in Becker Township will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becker Township Hall, 12165 Hancock St., Becker.  The annual meeting will begin at 8:01 p.m., with the board of canvass to convene immediately after adjournment.
On the ballot, Brian Kolbinger and Joe Danielson are seeking two available three-year term seats (#4 and #5) with nobody running against them as of this edition of the Citizen. 
Township Hall will be open Saturday (March 7) from 10 a.m. to noon for absentee voting.
 
The annual meeting will consist of electing a moderator, getting updates from CentraCare Health, planning commission and the joint planning board, receiving a road report from the engineer, discussing old and new business and setting a date for the next annual meeting.
 
The Becker Township Board generally meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m..  If a federal holiday falls on the normal meeting date, the meeting is usually held the next available evening.
 
Haven Township
The annual meeting for Haven Twp. will be held  Tues., Mar. 10 at 7 p.m. at Haven Township Hall, 4230 45th Avenue SE. St Cloud.
 
In the event of inclement weather, the meeting shall be postponed until Tues., Mar.17, at 7 p.m.
 
Palmer Township
The Palmer Twp. annual election of town officers and annual town meeting will be held Tuesday. 
 
The election poll hours will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at which time the voters will elect:
 
One supervisor to fill the office now being held by Stephen Demeules.
 
The annual meeting will commence at 8:08 p.m., to conduct all necessary business prescribed by law.
 
The annual election and meeting will be held at the following location: Palmer Township Hall, 4180 105th Avenue, Clear Lake.
 
In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election may be postponed until the third Thursday in March.
 
Santiago Township
The annual election of Santiago town officers and annual meeting will be held Tuesday  from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Santiago Town Hall, 16943 - 20th St., Santiago. 
 
The Santiago Township board of canvass will immediately follow the adjournment of the Annual Meeting.
 
In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election may be postponed until the third Thursday in March.
 
The voters will elect; one town supervisor - 3 year term and one treasurer - 2 year term.
 
The annual meeting will start at 8:01 p.m. to conduct all necessary business prescribed by law.
