2 Cows Shot In The Refuge

Sherburne County investigators are asking for assistance from the public in finding the person or persons who shot and killed two cows in the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge.
 
Deputies were called Tuesday to the area near 293rd Ave NW in Blue Hill Twp. and met with a man whose cattle graze on the Refuge. He told deputies that he found a cow and a calf on the Refuge had been shot, according to Sheriff Joel Brott.
 
The cows appeared to have been deceased for several days based on the decomposition of the animals. The cow was found in a creek and the calf was found about 15 feet away.
 
The animals were found about a quarter mile northe of the Blue Hill Cemetery.
