The Board Chair opened the County Board Workshop Meeting. Commissioner Burandt was absent from the meeting.             

2022 Budget Requests from External Organizations. Administration

Dan Weber, Assistant County Administrator, Bruce Messelt

The Board and staff discuss direction regarding 2022 Budget requests from the following External Organizations:

1) U of MN Extension

2) Initiative Foundation

3) Sherburne County Agricultural Society

4) Sherburne County History Center

5) Retired Senior Volunteer Project (RSVP)

Regional U of MN Extension Director Lori Vicich and Benton County Commissioner Ed Popp were present to discuss the request of a contribution toward an Ag Educator to the U of MN Extension budget.

County Financial Policies and the Creation of a Contract Risk Committee. Administration

Dan Weber, Assistant County Administrator, Kathleen Heaney, County Attorney, Staci Hecht, Risk Management Specialist, Diane Arnold, County Auditor/Treasurer

The Board and staff discussed the County's current contract review process and potential changes to the process and policies moving forward. A committee was formed and Commissioner Schmiesing volunteered for the Committee

Current State and Preparedness of County Information Servers for Business Continuity of Operations. Information Technology

Brian Kamman, IT Director

State and Preparedness of County Information Servers for Business Continuity of Operations. IT Director Brian Kamman provided a presentation to the Board.

Resumption of Strategic Planning Process. Administration

Bruce Messelt, County Administrator

The Board provides direction to County staff on resumption of Strategic Planning process initiated in 2019 and suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
