2022 Budget & Levy Hearing Meeting Minutes
December 2, 2021
The following Commissioner’s were present: Commissioner Burandt, Commissioner Dolan, Commissioner Fobbe, Commissioner Danielowski. Commissioner Schmiesing was absent.
Also present from the County staff were: Bruce Messelt, County Administrator; Dan Weber, Assistant County Administrator; Keisha Erickson, Administration; J. Hancuch, Community Corrections; Diane Arnold, Auditor/Treasurer;
County Assessor Michelle Moen and Deputy Assessor David Selbitschka were present in their office to meet with the public and answer any questions they may have.
Commissioner Danielowski, Chairperson, called the Truth in Taxation Hearing to order at 6:00 p.m. in the County Board Room of the Sherburne County Government Center followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Commissioner Danielowski introduced Bruce Messelt, County Administrator.
Administrator Messelt presented a PowerPoint presentation. Individuals with specific value and classifications questions or concerns were instructed to meet with available Assessment personnel.
Commissioner Danielowski opened the Public Comment at 6:17 p.m.
Six members of the public were present.
Bret Collier of Big Lake, Ralph Lloyd of Elk River, Chis Bouchard of Big Lake and Derek Glowacki of Elk River had questions regarding County budget, tax and levy increases.
Commissioner Burandt spoke regarding other entities and their tax levies.
Commissioner Fobbe thanked those from the public who spoke during the Public Hearing and those who attended.
Commissioner Danielowski thanked everybody for coming out and addressing their concerns and encouraged them to keep asking questions.
Commissioner Dolan expressed his appreciation of those in attendances feedback. Dolan encouraged the public to follow the County Boards meetings to track the decisions throughout the year.
The Public Hearing was closed at 6:51 p.m.
Administrator Messelt addressed the Extension Contract and the addition of an Extension Employee. Discussion was had amongst the Board on the topic, no action was taken.
Commissioner Danielowski adjourned the meeting at 6:59 p.m.
