The Sherburne County Board of Commissioners convened in regular session on December 15, 2020, at the Sherburne County Government Center in the City of Elk River, MN. Call to order by the Chair was at 9:00am.

Announcements

County Administrator Bruce Messelt reminded the Board of the Campaign Finance and Disclosure form needs to be completed and submitted by public officials and passed the document around to the group. Messelt recognized County Attorney Kathleen Heaney for being awarded the Johnson Distinguished Service Award from the Minnesota County Attorney's Association (MCAA). County Commissioner and Board Chair Felix Schmiesing was presented with a plaque for his service as the 2020 Board Chair by Messelt. Words of gratitude, thanks and appreciation were shared towards Heaney and Schmiesing.

COVID-19 Update and County Response. Administration

HHS Director Amanda Larson provided an update on County cases and statistics, local schools, and COVID-19 vaccine status. The Board gave consensus for HHS to have part-time Public Health nurses to go full time as needed during the COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Assistant County Administrator Dan Weber provided an update the State of Minnesota Business Relief funding and it’s conditions for qualification.
