Regular School Board Meeting

Chair Jurek called the regular meeting of the School Board of District #726 to order on the 9th day of September, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Teaching & Learning Center.

Roll Call.                                      

Members present:      Aaron Jurek, Jason Kindred, Lori Molus, Ryan Obermoller, Connie Robinson, Mark Swanson

Members absent:       None

Others present:         Jeremy Schmidt, Superintendent

                                  Kevin Januszewski, Director of Business Services                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Citizen Comments:    Ryan Obermoller, Executive Director from Dylan’s Hope, presented a check to Superintendent Schmidt in the amount of $25,000 to be used for Becker Public Schools Mental Health Education.   

Motion by Mark Swanson, seconded by Ryan Obermoller to Approve the Agenda, as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

CONSENT AGENDA

MINUTES FROM THE AUGUST 5, 2019 REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

DISBURSEMENTS– in the amount of $1,333,202.51

PERSONNEL, as presented

GIFTS, as presented

SET PUBLIC HEARING DATE:  December 2, 2019

Motion by Mark Swanson, seconded by Jason Kindred, to Approve Maximum Preliminary Payable 2020 Levy,as presented. Motion carried unanimously.  

Motion by Mark Swanson, seconded by Lori Molus toApprove Resolution Appointing Election Judges, as presented. Motion carried unanimously upon roll call vote.

Motion by Jason Kindred, seconded by Lori Molus, to Approve the Following Policy Recommendations:

419     Revised         Tobacco Free Environment   

603     Revised         Curriculum Development

616     Revised         School District Accountability

618     Revised         Assessment of Achievement

Motion carried unanimously.

The board discussed a Resolution Proposal for MSBA Delegate Assembly.  This will be discussed annually in August.

Superintendent Schmidt will present his Proposed 19-20 Superintendent Goalsat the October school board meeting. 

A First Reading was held on the following policy:

223    Revised        Strategic Goals

A Second Reading will be held at the October school board meeting.

Motion by Jason Kindred, seconded by Mark Swanson to Set a Special School Board Meeting for November 12^th, 5:30 to Canvass Election Results.  Motion carried unanimously.

The meeting was adjournedat 7:22 p.m.
