SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 14

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING MAILBOXES ON TOWNSHIP ROADS

The Lynden Township Board adopted Ordinance No. 14, entitled “An Ordinance Regulating Mailboxes on Township Roads” on May 5, 2025. The ordinance requires that all mailboxes installed after the date of the ordinance shall be of a swing-away type, and set standards for how the mailbox must be mounted. The ordinance also set conditions upon which the Township will repair or replace mailboxes damaged by snowplow operations, and makes it a violation of the ordinance to have a mailbox other than a properly-installed mailbox installed within a Township right of way.

The Lynden Town Board has approved the text of this Summary for publication and has determined that this Summary clearly informs the public of the intent and effect of Ordinance No. 14. Complete copies of Ordinance No. 14 are available by contacting the Township Clerk at Clerk@LyndenMN.gov.
