I. CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 727, Big Lake Schools, was called to order on May 28, 2025.
II. ROLL CALL
All Board members were present.
III. APPROVE AGENDA
A motion passed to approve the agenda.
IV. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Chair Reasoner and the Board led the Pledge of Allegiance.
V. OPEN FORUM
Kimberly Meirose addressed the board on the positive things that she has seen at Big Lake Schools.
VI. CONSENT AGENDA
A motion passed to approve the following:

VII. DONATIONS
A motion passed to approve the donations.
VIII. ACTIVITIES UPDATE INCLUDING ACTIVITY FEES AND ENTRANCE TICKET PRICES
A motion passed to approve the increase for the 2025-2026 school year from $99 to $125 and revisit the increase for 2026-2027 after reviewing participation numbers for 2025-2026.
IX. FINANCIAL REPORT
A motion passed to approve the financial report and budget
revisions as presented.
X. APPROVAL OF TRANSPORTATION CONTRACT
A motion passed to approve the contract as presented.
XI. CURRICULUM PRESENTATION
A motion passed to approve the 6-year adoption of Amplify ELA for grades 6-8. A motion passed to approve the buy back of the 4 year to switch to 6 year of CKLA 3rd Edition. A motion passed to approve the adoption of CharacterStrong Tier 1 and Tier 2 for grades K-12.
XII. Q COMP UPDATE
Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Minda Anderson, along with building peer coaches, presented the annual Q Comp update.
XIII. APPROVAL OF PAY AND BENEFIT CHANGES FOR NON-AFFILIATED STAFF
A motion passed to approve the pay and benefit changes for non-affiliated staff as presented.
