NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON

ROAD EASEMENT VACATION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of Supervisors of the Town of Big Lake, County of Sherburne, State of Minnesota, will meet at 6:00 PM on the 25th day of June 2025, at the Big Lake Township Hall, 21960 County Road5, Big Lake, MN, 55309 to consider vacation of the town road easement as recorded as document number 427444, in the Office of the Sherburne County Recorder and legally described as follows:

An easement for roadway purposes 66 feet in width, being 33 feet on each side of the following described centerline, and it’s prolongations:

Commencing at the Northwest corner of Government Lot 2, Section 2, Township 33, Range 27, according to the United States Government survey thereof; thence on an assumed bearing of North 89 degrees 33 minutes 17 seconds East, along the North line of said Government Lot 2, a distance of 308.03 feet; thence South 0 degrees 18 minutes, 55 seconds West a distance of 190.00 feet to the actual point of beginning of the centerline to be described; thence North 76 degrees 02 minutes 54 seconds West a distance of 66.93 feet: thence southwesterly along a tangential curve concave to the southeast having a radius of 97. 94 feet, a central angle of 58 degrees 38 minutes 11 seconds, a length of 100.23 feet; thence South 45 degrees 18 minutes 55 seconds West a distance of 213.00 feet, more or less to the West line of said Government Lot 2, and said centerline there terminating.

Said easement covers a portion of the property parcel PID# 10-00102-1203 and described as the following:

That part of Government Lot 2, Section 2, Township 33, Range 27, according to the United States Government survey thereof, described as follows:

Commencing at the northwest corner of said Government Lot 2, thence Southerly along the west line of said Government Lot 2 on an assumed bearing of South 00 degrees 18 minutes 55 seconds West a distance of 341.59 feet to the point of beginning; thence North 70 degrees 55 minutes 41 seconds East a distance of 84.65 feet; thence North 89 degrees 33 minutes 17 seconds East a distance of 228.17 feet; thence South 00 degrees 18 minutes 55 seconds West a distance of 165.45 feet; thence South 11 degrees 20 minutes 08 seconds West a distance of 233 feet, more or less to the shoreline of Birch Lake; thence Southwesterly along said shoreline to the point of intersection with the west line of said Government Lot 2; thence northerly along said west line of said Government Lot 2 a distance of 406.5 feet, more or less to the point of beginning.

The scheduled hearing is for the purpose of determining whether the above-described easement should be vacated. Such persons who desire to be heard with reference to this proposed vacation will be given the opportunity to be heard at this public hearing.
