The City of Clear Lake is required by Minnesota Rule, Chapter 4720 to for Total Chlorine Residual levels and Coliform bacteria. This required sampling is supposed to be done during the time period January 1, 2014 -March 31, 2014. Our sample was not received by the Minnesota Department of Health Laboratory but was sent out on Tuesday January 28th. Since the violation a sample was taken on 4/14/2014 and shows acceptable Total chlorine residual and no coliform bacteria. Because we did not monitor during the compliance period, we did not know the levels of Total Chlorine present or whether coliform bacteria were present in your drinking water, and are unable to tell whether your health was at risk during that time.
What does this mean to me?
This is NOT an emergency. You do NOT need to boil water or use an alternative source of water at this time.
