City Of Clear Lake Request For Proposal

The City of Clear Lake is seeking proposals from firms / individuals interested in performing building official/ inspector duties for the City of Clear Lake.  The City is interested in an independent contractor agreement for those services.  This contract requires skilled inspectional work in securing compliance with the building, plumbing and mechanical codes, zoning ordinances, and related regulations and standards.  Work involves responsibility for plan review and inspection of structures in regard to conformity with the city’s zoning ordinance, code requirements, and technical standards.  Work also involves determining building permit valuation for inspected construction projects.  Required qualifications:  persons performing these services must have experience in building trades and considerable experience involving a wide variety of construction.  There must be a Certified MN Building Official within the Proposal.  Possession of a valid MN driver’s license required.  Proposals should include compensation based on a percentage of the fee generated by the building permits issued.  Proposal must also include a proposed weekly schedule for work and visits to Clear Lake.  All proposals or questions should be addressed to Kari Mechtel, City Clerk.  Submit proposals to City Hall; PO Box 298; Clear Lake, MN 55319.  Deadline for proposals is 3:30 p.m. on February 25, 2014.  Proposals may be delivered to City Hall or mailed to the address by the deadline.  The City Council will open all sealed bids at its regular meeting on March 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Please place RFP BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES on the front of the proposal in a clear format.  The City reserves the right to accept or refuse any and all proposals, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and further reserves the right to accept any proposal deemed to be in the City’s best interest.
