To The Editor

Do the majority care anymore? It must either be carelessness or bad habits or both that seems to prevail in our culture today as we all witness the trash that is evident wherever we drive or look. One cannot drive the distance from one telephone pole to another without seeing trash. You know it is intentional when picking up the trash many of the soft drink bottles are partially consumed. You know it is intentional when there is one in a parking lot standing upright, again partially consumed.

Bless the hearts of those yellow vested folks in the Spring cleaning our ditches. More of us need to join in their efforts. We need to get children involved so they witness what adults are doing. More people ought to walk the roadway along their own property. Sadley you see trash at people’s own driveway.

Its sad to see this anywhere, but the bigger negative message is to see this in rural areas, our country sides of beautiful farmsteads. It seems unnoticed thus it remains.

Priority? It speaks of who we are personally, community, nation and culture, respect for ourselves, our neighbors and the direction we are headed as we continue to form our culture. If we cannot even discipline ourselves on this most simple a matter how can we expect to deal with so many other facets of life for ourselves and the common good of all.
