I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many citizens of Becker and Big Lake for their support of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon fundraiser that was held last Saturday afternoon at Tootsie’s in Big Lake. 

 

The owner of Tootsies sponsored the event with assistance from Bobbie Stanton, Arin Haberman and Kari Westby. There was a chicken wing contest, door prizes and silent auction items donated by local area businesses. This event raised over $2000 for the Becker Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Organization.

 

I would like to recognize Mayor Danielowski and the city of Big Lake for taking the steps to become a Yellow Ribbon city and for supporting this event.  Big Lake will officially become a Yellow Ribbon city on November 1st. The celebration will take place at their high school. I look forward to working with Big Lake and making our Beyond the Yellow Ribbon cities successful by demonstrating commitment to the veterans of our communities and their families. 

 

And last, but definitely not least, a very special thanks to all veterans – past, present and future. Thank you for your sacrifice and service to our country!
