To The Editor

Mr. Carlson and Mr. Keeler's editorials from last week bring up good points. Use of  public tax dollars, with little or no accountability, and creating unfair competition between the government and the private sector is a concern no citizen or private business owner should ignore. Subsidizing or bailing out a government business or business partner is not a core service of government. However, projects targeted at making a community safer benefits everyone and should be a priority.

If anything the bickering by the city council gives us insight to their priorities, who may or may not be benefitting from them, and how important our priorities are to them.

American economist Thomas Sowell once said, " I cannot imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong".
