To The Editor

I wanted to thank you for publishing your article titled "Former Satanist and Christianity-basher gives testimony at The Hub." This story was fascinating to me in quite a few ways. First, the man featured in this article, Brian Cole, is astounding. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about his past and how he finally chose a better path for his life. I think many of us can be so close minded to things that are there for us to see, to reach out for, but fear, hate, resentment, ignorance, avoidance, etc. have a very tight grip. They keep us from seeing the truth and trick us into believing lies. I think anyone can relate to this at some level.

Second, this man has devoted his life to helping others. I commend not only him, but Pastor Drehmel for reaching out to him as a road to offer help and perspective to our community, and to Mr. Morgan for such a well written article that provided those of us who weren't there a chance to hear this incredible story.

Third, after the absolute tragedy a few weeks ago with the loss of one of the children in our school, this speaker came at a time ears were there to hear. Loss is devastating on many levels.

This man's message, after his own loss and hitting of rock bottom, of a search for truth, redemption, and forgiveness is a life lesson offered by him in a vulnerable and brave way. The article stated how he warned against the dangers of social media and how it can be a tool for the devil. I cannot agree more!

I challenge the parents and guardians of our children to face this same realization and guard the influential, vulnerable, tender eyes in your very own home!
