If you live in NE Clearwater, and you look outside your front window, you will see brand new streets with curbing and storm sewers choked with a years worth of mud and debris. Not a single effort has been made to clean it up. This must be the curb-appeal that the engineer, Mr. Kevin Bittner, spoke of when he sold our feckless city council the curbing that very few of us tax-payers wanted. It would be difficult to explain to a potential home buyer why my neighborhood with its new streets looks like a place abandoned. I have asked our city administrator, Kevin Kress, to get it cleaned up- no results. I asked the city council, the city administrator, and the engineer, at the last council meeting, why our maintenance department, headed by John Schmidt, simply chooses to ignore and neglect the mess on our streets- no results. To the Clearwater City Council members, who choose to ignore us residents - get off the city council. To the City Administrator - You’ve hitched your wagon to a loser of a city. To the maintenance department - step up and do what we pay you to do, clean up the mess or find another job. I’m sick of living like this. I live with a broken Federal and State government, and a local government that is dysfunctional on all levels. Lets get involved, folks. Lets clean out the vermin and start living like this is America- not Armenia.
