To The Editor

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." (Nelson Mandela). As a group of District 742 Elementary School Principals, this quote resonates deeply in our belief system. Every day we walk into our buildings knowing that we will be giving each and every student our best. Our students in District 742 will be changing our world. They will be our teachers, our doctors, our mechanics, our lawyers, our politicians, and they will be expected to lead with 21st century skills and technology. We must ensure that our students are prepared to take on this important work.

If we want our children to succeed, then we must provide them the necessary infrastructure to compete. Research supports the quality of teaching and learning is impacted by school design and facility conditions. By voting Yes (Tech), Yes (Apollo) on November 8, we can equip both of our high schools, teachers, and students with the power to successfully change the world.
