Letters To The Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

I read with appreciation the recent Patriot story featuring the Big Lake Middle School STEM story about their program to extend student interests in solving real-life issues outside the classroom. For many of our public educations, we have witnessed little connection between classroom interests and real life. This STEM group has been different. They are connected — and that is the vital link between those interests. Keep up the good work, students, teachers and administrations. This is a most-dynamic link of your STEM interests and the challenges to life right outside your doors.

TO THE EDITOR:

Thank you to everyone who donated books and/or attended the Friends of the Library Book Sale on June 12. We are very appreciative of your help. The proceeds from the sale allow us to support the many programs that the library offers to the entire community. Also, if you think you might be interested in becoming a member of our group, we meet the second Monday of each month in the Senior area of the Community Center at 4 p.m.. We always welcome new members.
