TO THE EDITOR:
My republican representative doesn’t respond to my messages or answer my questions so I will submit them here. Mr. Emmer, the president is unclear if his oath of office in which he swore to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution requires him to preserve, protect and defend the constitution. He needs to check with his lawyers. Mr. Tom Emmer, you are primarily a fund raiser, I understand a very good one, but you are also a lawyer. Mr. Emmer, does your oath of office: “I, (representative Emmer) do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” require you to support and defend the Constitution?
