Letter To The Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

I own The Kettle here in Clearwater. I would like to voice some frustrations with some of the town leadership here in Clearwater and if I were to guess the same goes in some of the other local communities. Out of our city’s staff and council, I have seen them either not once during this shut down or once was all that I had seen them. Zero contact from the city to see if there was something they could do to help. I had finally reached out after the first week to see if they would post things saying we are still open.

Now on the other hand the Clearwater Fire Department has been very supportive during this and it is greatly noticed and appreciated. Thank you. Then last week I emailed our council again but asked them to take up discussion on opposing and further crushing  of our 14th amendment rights by opposing any further orders by Gov. Walz. Our constitution is very black and white. It should and does not change when there is a problem. It was written this way on purpose. People say we are in this together and we are not. I don’t know if I will survive this crashing of my businesses sales but the goal is that I do.

The community needs to support all local business. Stop shopping at big box corporations. Support our local farmers. I will be opening on Monday May the 4th even if the ban is extended.
