Big Lake School Board Election – Need More Information

Over the past couple weeks the Patriot published profiles of the (5) people running for the three open seats on the Big Lake School Board.  While I applaud the Patriot for providing these candidate’s profiles, they contain little if any information as to how these individuals would act as School Board members.  Why they want to be board members? What are their educational values? (e.g. Common Core, history/civic/economics classes vs. gender studies/1619 project/Critical Race Theory)  What are their disciplinary values?  How do they intend to keep our children safe while in school?  What are their fiscal values?

Is there going to be a candidate questions and answer/open forum where citizens can ask them questions?  Remember, these board members are going to be responsible for the actual education and safety of our children as well as multi-million dollar budgets which mainly come from our property taxes.

We need to know more so that we can make learned choices!
