TO THE EDITOR:
As a neighbor, Governor Walz you might be a nice person, but in a government position you hit the zero scale, and you left all Minnesotans with extremely ineffective government. The destruction and now the decay of Minneapolis and St. Paul rests squarely on your shoulders. Your decision to allow businesses to be ransacked and burned is beyond belief. You created the funnel or which other major cities came under attack by anarchists and street jackals.
Many of our fine business owners lost everything they owned, their ability to survive, their ability to provide for their families, their homes through foreclosure, and for many their self-esteem and respect. The pride of all their lives work, GONE.
One remedy is, Governor Walz why don’t you give your lucrative government salary, your pension, your house, cars, and everything else you cherish, and live in total poverty, as you have condemned many of these people. (And give it all to t relief fund). Then you can know the heartbreak these many shop owners are facing, having nothing but the memories of what could have been. Destitute, with nothing left to live for, then you might have empathy for their plight.
But you will not do that, instead you make excuses as to why the destruction happened, but none of it was your fault. Now you are appealing the decision of the Federal Government not to bail you out of this mess you made. By the federal government through FEMA? Coming to your aid, that would mean every citizen everywhere in our nation will chip in to pay for your terrible management style.
FEMA is to be used for natural disasters, not to bail out inept governors, who allow their cities to burn under their watch. I hope the shop owners can rebuild, but for now and forever SHAME ON YOU, Governor Walz.
