TO THE EDITOR:

Thank you for the Patriot’s beautiful special edition magazine celebrating our local veterans. In 1958,  I was 17 years old, and was awarded a scholarship to pursue my education to become a Registered Nurse.  This Forty and Eight scholarship from the American Legion set me on a 50 plus year course of work as an RN. I, and many, many other nursing students, are forever grateful for this support.
