TO THE EDITOR:

After reading the letter from the superintendent about the potential for the learning model in the primary and intermediate schools to change to hybrid or distance if they don't get more volunteers, teachers, subs, paras, bus/van drivers I decided to see what I could do to help. Not sure if anyone else has looked into it but this is what I was told to do by the school and it worked for me so I am letting others know.

I emailed the superintendent's secretary at aoswald@isd.726.org and explained that I would like to help out, listed my qualifications and degree (I'm a paramedic with teaching experience and 4 kids). She got right back to me and I have an appt tomorrow to fill out paperwork and see what I'm qualified to do for the schools.

Maybe if we come together as a community and enough of us parents and community members step up to help we can keep our kiddos in school!
