TO THE EDITOR:

Regarding two letters in your October 24th Editorial/Opinion page.

These two letters were in objection to attendance by the Sheriff in support of Thump at a rally-one by Rose Thelen and Karen Lohn and another by Ardis Nelsen and Helen Myllykangas, to them I say:

Would it not be in good taste, and actually morally responsible, to express some gratitude to the person or persons who daily put their lives on the line for you and for me and our loved ones? We know from news facts that there have been may police hurt, even killed, in recent months as they dutifully went to work every day-for our sake-protecting us, yes, protecting you Rose, Karen, Ardis and Helen. My faith underpins my comments recalling the healing of 10 lepers by Jesus when only one gave thanks; "where are the other nine"? The sheriff was showing his appreciation to the president, who is a sincere supporter of law and order, and all good representatives of law and justice. Thank you sheriff.
