TO THE EDITOR:

Who are you going to vote for?

We are seeing a number of letters praising, or sometimes questioning, a candidate’s fitness for office.  I want to put forth this “Thought Experiment” that I’m hoping you will apply to your decision especially when it comes to who to vote for President.  Let’s say you have a bad tooth and you have the choice between two dentists.  One is a great guy, everyone likes him, a type of person that you would like to hang out with and have a beer.  Looks like your grandfather, has been married to the same wife for 40 plus years and speaks well.  The other swears like a sailor, simply rubs people the wrong way in social settings, doesn’t have the same principles as you do, but he does perfect dental work! The nice dentist’s fillings fall out or break after 6 months and you have to go back again and again for repairs, but the dentist whom just doesn’t present himself in a way that you would like, always does it right the first time and you never have to see him twice for the same problem.  (And you hate going to the dentist).  Who are you going to choose to fix your tooth?
