TO THE EDITOR:

Not long ago, both sides of the aisle shared core principles of how a government should serve its population. Values like human liberty, due process, and free market were not political platforms; rather, they were accepted as the founding doctrines upon which this very country has endured under for the last 244 years. And endure it has indeed! America is still the land of promise and opportunity, a nation in which anyone can succeed when they too share those values named above.

However, the liberal side of the political spectrum has been radicalized. Those core principles that every American once shared have been ditched by the Democrat party and replaced with socialism, reliance on government, and virtually unlimited state control over your life.

This is not the guiding ideology that has brought America from an experiment to a world leader in democracy. Everything we’ve grown accustomed to in this beautiful country could be fundamentally changed if Democrats are allowed to control it with their far-reaching agenda. Instead, I choose to support the ideals that this country was founded upon, the ones that motivate me to forge my own path. And that’s why I am a Republican.
