TO THE EDITOR:
“Nite to Unite” was postponed from Aug. to Oct. due to CIVID this year. Our usual pot luck was impossible so the Santiago Lions Club stepped up and served our Santiago Township as a drive-thru event with individual dinners, plus goody bags of info for each age group from Sheriff’s Dept. and the SUP (Substance Use Prevention) coalitions, plus candy from the Lions. There was a very large turnout, lots of fun & laughs. Everyone was given a drawing ticket. One adult won a large TV, and 2 kids won iPads.
All of this was supplied, set-up, and served by the Santiago Lions and a couple of other volunteers. These folks are so fun, energetic and generous with their time and effort. And, we so thank them for he many things they do for our community.
If you would like to come and see what they are all about, please call Donna Pozorski at 763-856-8474.
I would also like to thank our active neighborhood watch leaders who spent their time delivering fliers: Jeanette and Richard Harshman, Nancy and Richard Alickson, Curt and Michelle Enerson Tom and Diane Comstock, and Dan Warren. Their help and watchful eyes help keep us all safe.
And as always, we thank Sheriff Brott and Deputy Roxanne Schreder and all the deputies for serving us 23/7. You serve us well.
Thank you all.
Jan and Dave Wambeke
