TO THE EDITOR:

I would like to share why Alan Heidemann has my vote for City Council. I have served with Alan Heidemann on the Planning Commission for a little over a year and during meetings, he provides thoughtful, non-partisan commentary on complex issues that face the city.  His words indicate a desire to balance being a fiscally conservative community with providing amenities to attract businesses and young families.  He has recently been voted chair of both the Big Lake Economic Development Authority and the Planning Commission, an indicator of his leadership skills.  While he has been chair, a Code Revision Task Force has been formed with a goal of simplifying and/or reducing the code for homeowners and businesses. He has taken the time to understand the community through passionate involvement, and I trust him to help navigate this ship through increasingly unsteady waters.
