TO THE EDITOR:

Fractured.  This is word that comes to mind when I think about our country now.  This country hasn’t been this conflicted in 150 years.  This fracture has divided families, broken friendships, silenced neighbors, and created anxiety in our communities.

So where do we go from here?  What can we do to help solve this dilemma?  One thing we can do is have our voices heard.  Thankfully we have both the privilege and duty to cast votes for our choices to elect citizens to become the leaders we feel are best suited to govern our country, state, and communities.

We need more kindness when we interact with one another.  We need more respect for our institutions in place that provide services to all.  We need more unity in our communities and our country.  We need more strength to help each other out when times are challenging.  We need more honesty at all levels of our government.

The process has begun to choose our leadership.  Do not take that choice lightly.  Consider how you feel about how things are going now.  Then consider how you would like to see things be in the future.

I will choose the clear path that leads to the best future for all citizens of this country.  I simply ask you to do the same.
