In today’s ever-evolving educational landscape, e-learning has become an essential tool to ensure that students remain engaged and continue their academic journey. Whether it’s due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, eLearning plays a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education at Becker Public Schools. Our commitment to nurturing self-directed learners who can thrive in a changing global community is unwavering. As we embrace eLearning, we understand the importance of equipping families with effective strategies to support their children’s success in the virtual classroom.
At Becker Public Schools, we are prepared to declare eLearning Days when weather conditions or other emergencies make it unsafe for students to attend in-person classes. In the event conditions are such that school must be canceled, our administration will do its best to make that determination by 6:30 a.m. Once the decision is made, students, staff, and parents will be notified through various means. An eLearning Day means that students will learn remotely from home based on expectations determined by their schools and teachers. This proactive approach ensures that learning continues without the need for makeup days at the end of the school year.
All eLearning Days are designed to serve as official attendance days of school when students and teachers stay at home due to emergency situations. Learning continues as students remotely leverage digital tools and engage in teacher-prepared lessons. Teachers are available remotely to assist students by email during the eLearning school day.
To enhance student engagement during e-learning, we have identified effective strategies that encourage active participation and foster a sense of connection and community within the virtual classroom.
Monitor and Support: Parents and guardians play a crucial role in supporting their child’s eLearning journey. Monitor your child’s progress in accessing and completing activities and assignments. Provide support as needed;
Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with teachers via email, phone, or other appropriate digital means. Share any questions or concerns promptly;
Reporting Absences: If your child is unable to complete activities and assignments, report them as absent to ensure their educational needs are met.
Together, as a community at Becker Public Schools, we can navigate the challenges of e-learning and ensure that every child receives a high-quality education, regardless of the circumstances.
Teachers and staff at Becker Public Schools will monitor email and respond to questions during school hours. They may also use other communication tools as needed. Google Meet will be one of the primary video conferencing tools used for live class sessions. If students cannot attend a live session, teachers may provide notes or a recorded version.
In conclusion, Becker Public Schools is committed to ensuring that students can continue their education even during challenging circumstances. By implementing these strategies and maintaining effective communication, families and schools can work together to support students’ e-learning success and provide them with a quality education regardless of the learning environment.
