This week, House Republicans delivered a historic win for the American people

There are provisions in our One Big, Beautiful bill that benefit every Minnesotan and touch every corner of America. Specifically, the bill makes President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts permanent, provides funding to secure our border, unleashes American energy production, and cuts waste, fraud, and abuse.

By making President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts permanent, we are ushering in pro-growth reforms that will strengthen Minnesota families, workers, farmers, and small businesses. By passing this legislation, we’ve saved the average family in our district from a $2,299 tax increase – equivalent to approximately 12 weeks of groceries. The bill also includes a provision to eliminate taxes on overtime and tipped wages and provides crucial tax relief for seniors – putting more money in Minnesotans’ pockets.

In fact, a report from the Council of Economic Advisors shows that this legislation will produce up to $13,300 more in take-home pay for a typical family, and up to $11,600 more in wages for American workers.

This big, beautiful bill provides funding to complete the border wall, facilitate the removal of one million illegal immigrants per year, enhance security technology at our borders, and hire, train and retain 10,000 new Immigrations and Customs personnel. This is the largest investment in border security in American history. By prioritizing border security in this legislation, we are working to implement President Trump’s America First agenda and delivering on yet another one of our campaign promises.

Furthermore, we are working to drive down energy costs for Minnesotans by streamlining the energy permitting process and expanding federal fossil fuel leasing opportunities. This legislation also rolls back the Biden-era Green New Deal policies that sent gas prices soaring and pushed costly and inefficient energy sources.

Additionally, we’ve worked to strengthen and secure Medicare and Medicaid for the Americans who need it most. By eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in these programs, and prohibiting illegal immigrants from taking advantage of these programs, we are ensuring that the seniors, pregnant mothers, and the Americans who rely on these programs have access.

This legislation invests in core components of our America First agenda and includes the largest deficit reduction measure in nearly 30 years by slashing the deficit by $1.5 trillion. As we continue to craft our funding bills for Fiscal Year 2026, rest assured that we will continue to seek out opportunities to cut wasteful spending, invest in American infrastructure, and secure the America First policy victories that our constituents elected us to enact.
