The Public Facilities Authority (PFA) announced today that they have approved a new round of grants and loans to cities statewide including the community of Big Lake. Big Lake is set to receive $3,057,950 for improvements to the city’s wastewater treatment facility.
Financing for the project is provided through the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority as part of a $122 million round of loans and grants for water and infrastructure projects throughout Minnesota recently announced for the first half of 2020.
I extend my gratitude and appreciation to the PFA for providing the funds needed to complete this critically important public infrastructure project. This project will pay huge dividends for the citizens of Big Lake and I look forward to monitoring its progress in the months ahead.
The PFA administers and oversees the financial management of three revolving loan funds and other programs that help local units of government construct facilities for clean water, drinking water, and transportation infrastructure projects. These PFA programs allow local governments to access low-interest loans to complete these projects at a saving for local taxpayers.
