Zimmerman Tops Bulldogs, 69 44

The Bulldog mens basketball team did not shoot the basketball well against visiting Zimmerman Thunder Tuesday. End result was a 69-44 thrashing in the Granite Ridge Conference matchup.

Zimmerman jumped out to a 30-17 intermission lead and added on to it with 39 more second half points to 27 for Becker.

The Bulldogs’ front court men had a terrible time putting the ball in the basket. Lead front man Brandon Gustafson hit only two field goals for an output of four points for the night.

The Bulldog backcourt did most of the offense, with Guard Sam Ricker leading scorers with 11 points and Lucas Dertinger and Caleb Quernemoen each adding nine points.

Bryce Boser and Sam Koubsky each had three points.

The team was nine for 14 from the free throw line.

Carter McEachern led Zimmerman in scoring with 20 points; Jake Pensinger had 19 and Dylan Martin added eight.

The Bulldogs will be busy this week, as the season winds down. They visited Little Falls Friday, travel to Delano Tuesday and are at Albany Thursday.
