ALEX JOHNSON (#35) AND RACHEL VOGL (#45) of Becker are part of the 10th grade regional AAU Minnesota Comets basketball squad that has been playing since early April throughout the metro area and in two states. The photo left is from when the girls attended the Dakota Challenge tournament in Sioux Falls, SD following a three-day tournament in Ames, IA just days before.

Youths Gaining Experience On The Court In Summer Bb

Two Becker High School junior girls basketball players recently completed play as the Minnesota Comets 10th grade regional squad coached by Peggy Larson.

Rachel Vogl and Alex Johnson of Becker teamed up with nine other area girls from Annandale, Princeton, Albany, Rogers, Parkers Prairie, Hutchinson and Cathedral to play games from early April until this weekend. The Comets are part of AAU basketball.
 
Vogl and Johnson are expected to be integral pieces to the continued success of the Becker JV and varsity high school teams next winter.
 
Larson has been Albany’s youth basketball coach for the last nine years, She has coached spring basketball the last two years and coached traveling basketball for 12. She is currently the JV coach for Albany (six years).
 
Carlee Kobow, a senior next year at Becker has been part of the 11th grade select team of the UAA Minnesota Comets team coached by Ross Magnuson of Willmar.
 
Kari Benson of Becker is part of the eighth grade elite Minnesota Comets team coached by Megan Foley.
 
On the boys side, Zach Moeller of Becker is part of the Minnesota Comets 11th grade regional team coached by Joe Swecker of Sauk Rapids.
 
Jake Fobbe is on the 10th grade regional team coached by Andre Phillips.
 
Dawson Thom and Cody Oestrich of Becker are part of the ninth-grade silver Comets team coached by Luke Januschka.
