The Becker Bulldogs boys wrestling team achieved a major victory in their first match of the season Nov. 30, beating out all three schools they competed against with huge leads.
Competing at their home school, the team’s final score against Monticello was 56-18, Pine City 57-18 and St. Agnes 73-0.
Ethan Duncombe, 106, was defeated in his match against Monticello (0-3) but victorious against St. Agnes (6-0).
Kaden Rish, 106, defeated his opponents from Monticello (6-3), St. Agnes (9-0) and Pine City, forfeit (6-0).
Ethan Anderson, 120, defeated Monticello in a forfeit (12-3), St. Agnes (15-0) and Pine City (9-6).
Mason Doucette, 126, fought hard but was defeated against Monticello (12-6), won a forfeit from St. Agnes (21-0) and a match against Pine City (12-6).
Jake Nelson, 132, defeated Monticello ((18-6) and won against St. Agnes (27-0) and Pine City (18-6) in forfeits.
Lukas Paulson, 138, won his matches against Monticello (24-6) and St. Agnes (33-0) in forfeits, and defeated his Pine City opponent (24-6).
Kevin Andres, 145, defeated all three of his opponents from Monticello (28-6), St. Agnes (39-0) and Pine City (30-6).
Logan Jurek, 152, won against Monticello in a forfeit (34-6) and defeated St. Agnes (43-0) and Pine City (36-6).
Kylen Rish, 152, defeated Monticello (40-6) and St. Agnes (49-0) and won in a forfeit again Pine City (42-6).
Caden Dewall, 160, was victorious in all three of his matches from Monticello (44-6), St. Agnes (55-0) and Pine City (48-6).
Nicholas Groth, 195, won in forfeits against Monticello (50-12) and St. Agnes (61-0) and defeated his opponent from Pine City (51-12).
Brayden Weber, 220, defeated Monticello (56-18), St. Agnes (67-0) and Pine City (57-12).
Kolbe Braun, 285, won against St. Agnes in a forfeit (73-0) and although fought hard was defeated against Pine City (57-18).
The wrestling team’s next matches will be Dec. 8 at Delano, Dec. 13 at Albany and Dec. 14 at Glencoe-Silver Lake.
