With the fall sports teams almost all wrapped up, the high school winter sports teams have jumped into practice mode for the upcoming season with training at the high, intermediate and middle schools.
The Becker wrestling team has been utilizing the wrestling room to get fit and strong, with Coach Matt Aho and his assistants teaching and coaching the grapplers.
Their first Granite Ridge Conference meet is on the calendar for Nov. 30 at home against St. Agnes.
The varsity gymnastics team is gearing up for the start of their season which starts Dec. 8 at home. The youthful gymnasts have new leadership with Kayla Kalinowski taking over for Jen Harmoning.
The girls basketball team is priming for their season opener Nov. 27 at home against Willmar. Head Coach Dan Baird and Assistant Coaches Scott Gudmundson, Dominic Squires and Hokan Bengtson had the girls running through schemes and plays to better their passing and shooting techniques this past week.
The boys basketball team will be heading into their season under Head Coach Josh Ihrke starting Dec. 6 on the road at Big Lake.
The Dazzlers Dance team has a new Head Coach in Nadia Fischer-Danielson, with Julie Baloun stepping down to assistant coach and coach of the off-season dance squads. The girls are fine tuning their routines for their first meet upcoming (no dates set as of this week).
Robotics will kick off their season soon and boys hockey commences Nov. 24 at Bagley/Fosston while the girls hockey team started Nov. 19 against Rochester John Marshall.
