Volleyball Team Improves To 8 2

The Becker Bulldog girls volleyball team had a great week and improved their record to 8-2 under new Head Coach Kristina Sloan. Becker 3, Mora 0 Thursday, the Bulldogs took to the road to play Mora. They escaped the night with an exciting three-match win to improve to 8-2.

Becker came out strong and ready to play Thursday night, keeping Mora out of rhythm with aggressive serving and a defense that didn’t let the ball hit the floor.

“Sam Angell had an awesome game tonight and is really coming into her own in both attacking and her jump serve,” said Coach Sloan.

Angell was a force on offense, tallying 10 kills in 24 attempts and blasting four service aces. Kalie Jergens also had a big night, notching six kills in 19 attempts. Kalley Anderson blocked six shots and had seven kills in 11 attempts.

“Our middles put up a big blockade, making Mora work hard to get around them,” said Sloan.

Brynn Barthel also had six blocked shots as well as four kills in eight attempts and Hope Amundson contributed with five kills on nine attempts.

Daisy Kent and Brinley Zoller were the team’s top setters as Kent tallied 17 assists in 25 attempts and had three service aces. Zoller had nine assists in 25 attempts and one service ace.
