The Becker Blaze 12 and under girls traveling soccer team took second place in the Brainerd Summer Blast tournament last Friday and Saturday.
The girls played three games to get into the championship match. The teams they beat on the way to the finale were from Detroit Lakes, St. Cloud and South St. Paul.
The Blaze lost the championship game to Brainerd.
This under 12 team also took home a first place medal from the Blaine Breakout tournament at the end of April.
So far this season, the Blaze have shown improvement in their skills each and every game. They are undefeated in the regular season up to now.
The team is coached by Gretchen Changamire and consists of Emma Domka, Regan Sternquist, Erica Miner, Abbey Rothstein, Chloe Rothstein, Izzy Swanson, Triniti Crossland, KT Kurchoff, Ashley May, Megan Gamble, Kaylin Peterson and Faith Madsen.
The Blaze will be traveling to Coon Rapids for a tournament June 20-22 and district playoffs July 11.
