COACHES TRISH RIEMER-KEALY AND PAUL SCHMIDT (not pictured) had their track teams kick off the 2017 season with some indoor practices in the Fieldhouse this week. Some of the athletes took laps around the track while others practiced with Josh Ihrke in the foyer on form and technique.
JUNIOR ELLIE SCHWARTZ took to catching some pop flies and fielding grounders in the Becker High School gymnasium with her fellow teammates. Coach Baune’s team will continue to prepare indoors for the upcoming season as long as the weather stays sour.

Two Spring Sports Team Get Off To Early Start

Ahhhh. Spring is definitely right around the corner as a few of the Becker spring sports teams began practicing for the 2017 season this week.

Jason Baune had his roster of softball players playing catch, fielding grounders and pop-ups and taking some swings to rid their winter rust. With the cold temperatures and inch or two of snow on the ground, the girls won’t be spending too much time outdoors just yet, but hope to hit the field and bask in the sunshine before their first game of the year next month.

Track Coaches Trish Reimer-Kealy and Paul Schmidt also got their new season underway this week with indoor practices in the Fieldhouse.  Reimer-Kealy said the teams have a Jamboree Tuesday and a time trial March 28.

The rest of the spring sports teams — boys and girls golf, baseball, boys tennis and the two lacrosse teams kick off their practices starting next week.
