Track Teams Take First Place At Home Meet

Becker hosted a Granite Ridge Conference quad track meet Monday. 
 
Girls Track & Field
The Becker girls team ran away with the meet with a score of  114  to Zimmerman’s 57, Mora’s 46 and Milaca’s 23.
 
Alli Hendrickson led Becker by winning the high jump and the 1600 meters.
 
“We had many other good performance at the meet as well,” said Head Coach Trish Reimer-Kealy.
 
Cassidy Pleoger won the 55M and took second in the 200M and ran on the winning 4x200M relay.  Other first place finishers for Becker were: Keeley Holm in the 400M, Miranda O'Brien in the 55M hurdles, and Madi Kerzman in the shot put.
 
The Bulldog girls 4x800M squad had two very good relay teams. First place was taken by Jessica Gruenes, Abby Nelson, Dani Nuest and Lexi Dehmer in a time of 10:28.04.  The team of Whitney Shug, Victoria Kolbinger, Alli Hendrickson and Julia Bengtson ran a time of 10:29.2, placing second, but their place did not score due to being allowed to only score one relay.   The Milaca team ran 10:52.6 for third.
 
The 4x100M relay team was won by Madi Pleoger, Ani Dehmer, Cienna Pleoger and Callie Doucette in 59.37.
 
The 4x200M relay team was won by Cassidy Pleoger, Kayden Westin, Abby Maruska and Miranda O'Brien in 1:55.93.
 
Becker’s 4x400M relay team of Keeley Holm, Kayden Westin, Dani Nuest and Miranda O'Brien won their event in a time of 4:33.88.
 
 In the 55M dash,  first place went to Cassidy Pleoger  (7.91) and  third  went to Sydney Stommes  (8.07).
 
In the 200M dash,  second place was captured by Cassidy Pleoger (29.02), third went to Sydney Stommes (29.42) and sixth   to Abby Maruska (30.02).
 
 In the 400M dash, Keeley Holm took first place (67.01), Madison Pleoger took second  (70.07) and Allysa Gruenes   took fifth (73.0).
 
In the 800M run, third  place went to Lexi Dehmer (2:32.91) and  fourth to Julia Bengtson  (2:33.52).
 
in the 1000M run, Abby Nelson took second in 3:38.16, Whitney Shug took fourth in 3:52.94 and Callie Doucette fifth in 3:54.63.
 
In the 1600M run, first place went to Alli Hendrickson (5:38.28), second  to Dani Nuest (5:41.03) and third to Victoria Kolbinger (5:49.71).
 
In the 55M hurdles, Miranda O'Brien took first in 9.56 and  Kayden Westin third in 10.26.
 
In the high jump, Alli Hendrickson  took first with a 4'8" and Julia Bengtson fourth with a 4'6".
 
In the pole vault, Sydney Stommes took third with a  6'00 jump.
 
In the long jump, third   place went to Jessica Gruenes (14:11.5) and fifth place to Cienna Pleoger (14'00).
 
In the triple jump, Cienna Pleoger took third (30'6.5),  Keeley Holm fourth   (30'00) and Abby Maruska seventh  (29'9).
 
In the shot put, Madison Kerzman took first place with a throw of 33'0 and McKenna Edling took second with a heave of  30'3. 
 
“There were good times for the kids and much improvement with our relay exchanges and technique events,” said Reimer-Kealy.
 
Boys Track & Field
The Becker boys came away with a convincing win over Mora, Zimmerman and Milaca Monday afternoon.  Team scoring was Becker 101, Mora 59.5, Zimmerman 56.5 and Milaca 21.
 
Individual performances continued to be strong as Sam Ricker led the way for Becker by scoring 12 points for the Bulldog team.  He won the 1600M with a time of 4:47 and the 1000M with a time of 2:54.5.
 
Austin Hemmelgarn  performed well, taking second in the 55M and 200M while Kevin Andres won the 400M with a time of 53.61.  Andres also took third in the 55M dash.  
 
David Myers won the 55M hurdles with a time of 8.48 and placed third in the 400M and fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18'9.25". 
 
Michael Schmitz finished fourth in the 55M hurdles with a time of 9.68.  William Schendel won the pole vault at 11'6" and placed third in the high jump at 5'4".  
 
In the triple jump, it was Ethan Holm taking third with a jump of 38'11.75" and Jack Belde was fourth with a 38' 1.5" jump.  Belde also placed fifth in the long jump and was part of the winning 4x100M relay team along with Cody Johnson, Alex Anderson and Jacob Drury.  
 
Nick Goth had a nice throw in the shot put with a personal best toss of 39'3" to claim second place. In the 800M race, Becker went 1-2-3 with Jordan Gruenes (2:08.61) Justin Kringler (2:08.81) and Sydney Boros (2:10.34) finishing strong. 
 
In the other relays, the 4x800M team of Justin Kringler, Jonathan Novak, Basil Ricker and Jordan Gruenes placed first with a time of 8:42.4 and the 4x400M team of Gruenes, Kringler, Novak, and Johnson placed first with a time of 3:46.9.
