The Minnesota State High School Coaches Association (MSHSCA) recently handed out academic all-state awards to athletes from spring activities that failed to occur due to COVID-19.

The recipients must have a qualifying grade point average and one of the following: be a senior, be a state competitor, be an honor roll member or achieve an all conference award.

The 2020 Becker girls and boys track & field members who qualified for the awards are: seniors David Myres, Parker Lahr, Noah Fakhreddine, Arin Hendrickson, Alyssa Gruenes grade, Madison Pleoger, Cienna Pleoger, Lexi Dehmer, Callie Doucette, junior Cassidy Pleoger and sophomore Paige Maunu.

The girls are coached by Trish Reimer-Kealy and the boys by Paul Schmidt.

As well as the individual honors, both the Becker girls and boys track and field teams have been awarded the Gold standard award for team academics.

“We remain very supportive and proud of the accomplishments of these teams and are looking forward to next season when we are able to once again come together,” said Reimer-Kealy.
