Track Teams Do Well In Mora

 
The Becker boys and girls track teams had their first outdoor meet Tuesday at Mora. The girls took home first place out of the four teams competing with a score of 75.5, followed by Cathedral (71), Mora (67) and Zimmerman (56.5).
 
Girls Track
 
The girls were led by sophomore  Cassidy Pleoger, who was the team’s high point scorer. She won the 100M, 200M and ran on the winning 4 x 100M relay.
 
Becker started the meet off with the field events which were held inside the Mora field house except for the throws.  In the high jump, Lexi Rose placed fourth (4'4") and Sarah Woelfel was seventh (also jumping 4'4" but placed lower due to misses).
 
Long jump had Paige Maunu in fifth (13'6 1/2). Becker’s furthest triple jump was Cienna Pleoger in seventh (28'01 1/2).  In the pole vault Tessa Maruska was ninth (6'). The throws had Grace Schendel place fifth (70'10 1/2) and the shot was Anna Briggs tied for sixth (26'8").
 
Becker had two foursomes which took first and second in the 4x800M relay. Running a time of 11:08.41 was Liz Mackedanz, Natasha Berthiaume, Abby Sanderson and Lexi Dehmer.  Second place (11:22.26) was Alli Knute, Lexi Rose, Victoria Kolbinger and Abby Nelson.
 
The 100 meter hurdles had Becker placing well with eighth grader Regan Hausmann taking second in her first try at this event (19.76). Sarah Woelfel took third (20.00), Callie Doucette took fourth (20.13) and Arin Hendrickson took fifth (20.18). 
 
In the 300M hurdles,  Regan Hausmann (56.54) took first place by one - one hundreth of a second over the second place Zimmerman girl. Placing fourth  and fifth were Madison Pleoger (60.62) and Jessica Gruenes (61.23). 
 
In the 100M, Cassidy Pleoger took first (13.43), Paige Maunu third (13.99).
 
Pleoger also won the 200M with a time of 28.18. Abby Maruska took second (28.78), Paige Maunu fifth (29,85) and Keeley Holm sixth (30.23).
 
Alli Knute placed fourth in the 400M (72.78) and Keeley Holm fifth (74.29).
 
Lexi Dehmer won the 800M with a time of 2:38.61. Abby Sanderson was fifth (2:55.64) and Whitney Schug sixth (2:57.48).
 
Seventh grader Lexi Rose placed third in the 1600M with a PR time of 6:06.82.
 
The 3200M had senior Victoria Kolbinger taking second place with a time of 12:24.45.  Natasha Berthiaume placed sixth (13:18.26) and Abby Nelson eighth (13:28.81). 
 
In the 4x100M relay, the team of Cassidy Pleoger, Abby Maruska, Keeley Holm and Sarah Woelfel ran a time of 55.34 for first place.  The 4x200M relay team of Madison Pleoger, Aly Gruenes, Tessa Maruska and Skylar Schug placed second (2:12.47)
 
In the 4x400M relay, Alli Knute, Paige Maunu, Regan Hausmann and Liz Mackedanz  took fourth in a time of 4:45.73.
 
Boys Track
 
The Becker boys came out on top with a score of 88 points, followed by Mora with 77, Zimmerman 73 and Cathedral 33.
 
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was David Myres, who won the 110M hurdles with a time of 15.57, qualifying him already for the state honor roll.  Myres also won the 300M hurdles in  42.88 and was part of the winning 4x400M team which ran a 3:40.20.  He also placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 17'10".  
 
Sam Ricker took on the 1600M and 3200M for the first time this season as he won the mile in a time of 4:43.96 and was second in the 3200 with a time of 10:31.  He was also part of the boys 4x400M relay team.  The other two members of that relay team also had good days as Kevin Andres won the 200M with a time of 23.23 and the 400M with a time of 51.77.  
 
Jordan Gruenes won the 800M with a time of 2:10.76 and was part of the 4x800M relay team that finished second with a time of 9:04.28.  Other members of that relay were Basil Ricker, Jake Nelson and Noah Fakhredine.  
 
Basil and Noah also finished the 800M in second and fourth places.  
 
Jack Belde won the high jump with a jump of 5'10 inches, which is a PR.  He also finished third in the triple jump (38'5") and he second in the 200M (24.64). 
 
Belde also was part of the 4x200M team along with teammates Brayden Weber, Kyle Millard, and Josh Robertson that finished second with a time of 1:42.98.
 
Michael Schmitz finished fourth in the 100M hurdles and Cade Stommes finished third in the pole vault (9'6").  Grant Riddle and Kellen Hurt both cleared 7' for the first time and placed fifth.  Brayden Weber placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 36'1".
