JUNIOR MIDFIELDER KINSLEY HURT had one of the four goals Becker scored in their loss to Hutchinson Tuesday at home.

Tigers Devour Bulldogs At Sections

The Becker Bulldog girls lacrosse team fell to Hutchinson at home Tuesday in their only match of the week.

The Bulldogs lost 15-4.

Thursday’s game was postponed due to students competing in Robotics.

It was a cold and rainy night and Head Coach Hugh Hovde knew his team would be challenged as Hutchinson typically has been a high scoring team.

The weather didn’t help Becker’s situation either.

The first half saw Becker play relatively even lacrosse with Hutchinson until the Tigers dented the scoreboard with two quick goals.

The Bulldogs battled back and scored a couple goals to tie the match. With six minutes left in the half, Hutchinson unleashed their fury and got on a scoring  streak to end the half at 6-3.

The second half turned out to be a completely different story as the Tigers tallied nine goals while Becker was nearly shut out.

“Hutch made some halftime adjustments and only allowed us one more score,” said Hovde.

Fifty seconds into the half, Becker's Kinsley Hurt took a midfield feed pass and went to the goal to notch Becker’s fourth — and final — goal. After that, the ball pretty much stayed in Becker’s end the rest of the way as the Tigers scored at will.

“Hutchinson is a very well coached team with two or three strong players,” said Hovde.
“No one likes to lose, but I think we learned there are a few things we have to work on,” said Becker goalie, Kelsi Halvorson.

Halvorson was bombarded and faced over 30 shots as the ball whipped from Tiger stick to Tiger stick to the back of the net.

Scoring for Becker were Reilly Cencer with one goal, Brookelyn Beutz with one, Rachel Eisenreich with one and Kinsley Hurt with one.
